38:1
וַיְהִ֥י דְבַר־יְהוָ֖ה אֵלַ֥י לֵאמֹֽר׃
Now the Word of Yehovah was saying to me: —
38:2
בֶּן־אָדָ֗ם
“Son of mankind,
שִׂ֤ים פָּנֶ֙יךָ֙ אֶל־גּוֹג֙ אֶ֣רֶץ הַמָּג֔וֹג
Set your face towards Gog,
the Domain of the Giant Magician, god of the underworld,
נְשִׂ֕יא רֹ֖אשׁ מֶ֣שֶׁךְ וְתֻבָ֑ל
The prince of the pre-eminent
of Meshech and Tubal:
וְהִנָּבֵ֖א עָלָֽיו׃
And prophesy against him;”
38:3
וְאָ֣מַרְתָּ֔
“And you shall say:
כֹּ֥ה אָמַ֖ר אֲדֹנָ֣י יְהוִ֑ה
‘Thus has said Lord Yehovah:
הִנְנִ֤י אֵלֶ֙יךָ֙ גּ֔וֹג
“Behold I AM against you, O Gog,
נְשִׂ֕יא רֹ֖אשׁ מֶ֥שֶׁךְ וְתֻבָֽל׃
Prince of the pre-eminent of Meshech and Tubal” ’ ”
38:4
וְשׁ֣וֹבַבְתִּ֔יךָ וְנָתַתִּ֥י חַחִ֖ים בִּלְחָיֶ֑יךָ
“And I will turn you round
and put hooks in your jaws;
וְהוֹצֵאתִי֩ אוֹתְךָ֨ וְאֶת־כָּל־חֵילֶ֜ךָ סוּסִ֣ים וּפָרָשִׁ֗ים
And I will bring you out,
together with all of your army,
tanks/war planes, tank commanders/jet pilots,
לְבֻשֵׁ֤י מִכְלוֹל֙ כֻּלָּ֔ם
All of them out-fitted to perfection,
קָהָ֥ל רָב֙ צִנָּ֣ה וּמָגֵ֔ן
A vast company with full body protection and shield,
תֹּפְשֵׂ֥י חֲרָב֖וֹת כֻּלָּֽם׃
—All of them handling deadly weapons;”
38:5
פָּרַ֛ס כּ֥וּשׁ וּפ֖וּט אִתָּ֑ם
“Persia, Ethiopia and Lybia, together with them;
כֻּלָּ֖ם מָגֵ֥ן וְכוֹבָֽע׃
All for them, a shield and a head protection;”
38:6
גֹּ֚מֶר וְכָל־אֲגַפֶּ֔יהָ
“Gomer and all its troops,
בֵּ֚ית תּֽוֹגַרְמָ֔ה
The House of Togarmah,
יַרְכְּתֵ֥י צָפ֖וֹן וְאֶת־כָּל־אֲגַפָּ֑יו
The remotest parts of the North together with all his troops;
עַמִּ֥ים רַבִּ֖ים אִתָּֽךְ׃
Many peoples with you;”
38:7
הִכֹּן֙ וְהָכֵ֣ן לְךָ֔
“Be ready and firmly resolved for yourself,
אַתָּ֕ה וְכָל־קְהָלֶ֖ךָ הַנִּקְהָלִ֣ים עָלֶ֑יךָ
You, and the whole of your assembly,
those assembled by you;
וְהָיִ֥יתָ לָהֶ֖ם לְמִשְׁמָֽר׃
And you will be as guard to them;”
38:8
מִיָּמִ֣ים רַבִּים֮ תִּפָּקֵד֒
“After many days you shall muster yourself,
בְּאַחֲרִ֨ית הַשָּׁנִ֜ים תָּב֣וֹא ׀ אֶל־אֶ֣רֶץ ׀ מְשׁוֹבֶ֣בֶת מֵחֶ֗רֶב
In the latter years you shall come
to a country having recovered from a dagger,
מְקֻבֶּ֙צֶת֙ מֵעַמִּ֣ים רַבִּ֔ים
Having been gathered away from many peoples,
עַ֚ל הָרֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל
onto the mountains of Israel,
אֲשֶׁר־הָי֥וּ לְחָרְבָּ֖ה תָּמִ֑יד
Those which had become a perpetual desolation;
וְהִיא֙ מֵעַמִּ֣ים הוּצָ֔אָה
And She, brought out from peoples,
וְיָשְׁב֥וּ לָבֶ֖טַח כֻּלָּֽם׃
Then all of them dwelling in security;”
38:9
וְעָלִ֙יתָ֙ כַּשֹּׁאָ֣ה תָב֔וֹא
“And you shall ascend, –
like a ruinous storm you shall come, –
כֶּעָנָ֛ן לְכַסּ֥וֹת הָאָ֖רֶץ תִּֽהְיֶ֑ה
Like a cloud-mass covering the land you shall be; —
אַתָּה֙ וְכָל־אֲגַפֶּ֔יךָ
You and all your troops, –
וְעַמִּ֥ים רַבִּ֖ים אוֹתָֽךְ׃ ס
And many peoples with you;”
38:10
כֹּ֥ה אָמַ֖ר אֲדֹנָ֣י יְהוִ֑ה
“Thus has Lord Yehovah said,
וְהָיָ֣ה ׀ בַּיּ֣וֹם הַה֗וּא
‘And on that day this will happen, –
יַעֲל֤וּ דְבָרִים֙ עַל־לְבָבֶ֔ךָ
Thoughts shall arise in your heart,
וְחָשַׁבְתָּ֖ מַחֲשֶׁ֥בֶת רָעָֽה׃
And you will plot out an evil plan;’ ”
38:11
וְאָמַרְתָּ֗
“And you will say,
אֶֽעֱלֶה֙ עַל־אֶ֣רֶץ פְּרָז֔וֹת
‘I shall go up against a land of open country,
אָבוֹא֙ הַשֹּׁ֣קְטִ֔ים יֹשְׁבֵ֖י לָבֶ֑טַח
I shall come to those who are at rest,
who are dwelling in security;
כֻּלָּ֗ם יֹֽשְׁבִים֙ בְּאֵ֣ין חוֹמָ֔ה
All of them who dwell without any city wall,
וּבְרִ֥יחַ וּדְלָתַ֖יִם אֵ֥ין לָהֶֽם׃
And bars or two-leafed city gates they have none;’ ”
38:12
לִשְׁלֹ֥ל שָׁלָ֖ל וְלָבֹ֣ז בַּ֑ז
“In order to rob broadscale and to plunder broadscale; —
לְהָשִׁ֨יב יָדְךָ֜ עַל־חֳרָב֣וֹת נוֹשָׁבֹ֗ת
Returning your hand upon waste places having been re-inhabited,
וְאֶל־עַם֙ מְאֻסָּ֣ף מִגּוֹיִ֔ם
And against a people having been gathered from nations, –
עֹשֶׂה֙ מִקְנֶ֣ה וְקִנְיָ֔ן
Who are producing livestock and wealth, –
יֹשְׁבֵ֖י עַל־טַבּ֥וּר הָאָֽרֶץ׃
Who are dwelling at the Navel of the World (Axis Mundi);”
38:13
שְׁבָ֡א וּ֠דְדָן
“Sheba and Dedan,
וְסֹחֲרֵ֨י תַרְשִׁ֤ישׁ וְכָל־כְּפִרֶ֙יהָ֙ יֹאמְר֣וּ לְךָ֔
And the traders of the Mediterranean and all its proxies, –
they shall say to you, –
הֲלִשְׁלֹ֤ל שָׁלָל֙ אַתָּ֣ה בָ֔א
‘You are coming to rob broadscale,
הֲלָבֹ֥ז בַּ֖ז הִקְהַ֣לְתָּ קְהָלֶ֑ךָ
To plunder broadscale,
you have summoned your assembly; —
לָשֵׂ֣את ׀ כֶּ֣סֶף וְזָהָ֗ב לָקַ֙חַת֙ מִקְנֶ֣ה וְקִנְיָ֔ן
to carry off silver and gold,
to take away livestock and wealth,
לִשְׁלֹ֖ל שָׁלָ֥ל גָּדֽוֹל׃ ס
To rob on a grand scale;’ ”
38:14
לָכֵן֙ הִנָּבֵ֣א בֶן־אָדָ֔ם וְאָמַרְתָּ֣ לְג֔וֹג
“Therefore, prophesy son of mankind,
and you shall say to Gog:
כֹּ֥ה אָמַ֖ר אֲדֹנָ֣י יְהוִ֑ה
‘Thus saith Lord Yehovah,
הֲל֣וֹא ׀ בַּיּ֣וֹם הַה֗וּא
Will you not know on that day
בְּשֶׁ֨בֶת עַמִּ֧י יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל לָבֶ֖טַח תֵּדָֽע׃
when My People Israel are dwelling in security!?’ ”
38:15
וּבָ֤אתָ מִמְּקֽוֹמְךָ֙ מִיַּרְכְּתֵ֣י צָפ֔וֹן
“Then you will come from your place,
from the northern recesses,
אַתָּ֕ה וְעַמִּ֥ים רַבִּ֖ים אִתָּ֑ךְ
You, together with many peoples along with you;
רֹכְבֵ֤י סוּסִים֙ כֻּלָּ֔ם
All of them commandeering battle tanks and jet planes,
קָהָ֥ל גָּד֖וֹל וְחַ֥יִל רָֽב׃
A great assembly and a massive force;”
38:16
וְעָלִ֙יתָ֙ עַל־עַמִּ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל
“And you shall go up against My People Israel,
כֶּֽעָנָ֖ן לְכַסּ֣וֹת הָאָ֑רֶץ
Like a cloud-mass covering the land;
בְּאַחֲרִ֨ית הַיָּמִ֜ים תִּֽהְיֶ֗ה וַהֲבִאוֹתִ֙יךָ֙ עַל־אַרְצִ֔י
It shall happen in the latter days
that I shall bring you against My Land,
לְמַעַן֩ דַּ֨עַת הַגּוֹיִ֜ם אֹתִ֗י
In order for the nations to know Me,
בְּהִקָּדְשִׁ֥י בְךָ֛ לְעֵינֵיהֶ֖ם גּֽוֹג׃ ס
When by you I show Myself to be Sacred in their eyes, O Gog!”
38:17
כֹּֽה־אָמַ֞ר אֲדֹנָ֣י יְהוִ֗ה
“Thus has said Lord Yehovah:
הַֽאַתָּה־ה֨וּא אֲשֶׁר־דִּבַּ֜רְתִּי בְּיָמִ֣ים קַדְמוֹנִ֗ים
‘Indeed are you not he of whom I spoke in former times,
בְּיַד֙ עֲבָדַי֙ נְבִיאֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל
through the hand of My servants the prophets of Israel,
הַֽנִבְּאִ֛ים בַּיָּמִ֥ים הָהֵ֖ם שָׁנִ֑ים
prophesying in those days, for years; —
לְהָבִ֥יא אֹתְךָ֖ עֲלֵיהֶֽם׃ ס
Concerning bringing you against them?!’ ”
38:18
וְהָיָ֣ה ׀ בַּיּ֣וֹם הַה֗וּא
“Now it shall happen at that time,
בְּי֨וֹם בּ֥וֹא גוֹג֙ עַל־אַדְמַ֣ת יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל
When Gog comes
against the land of Israel, –
נְאֻ֖ם אֲדֹנָ֣י יְהוִ֑ה
The Declaration of Lord Yehovah:
תַּעֲלֶ֥ה חֲמָתִ֖י בְּאַפִּֽי׃
My burning anger shall arise in My wrath;”
Revelation 11:18 KJV
And the nations were angry, and Thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth.
38:19
וּבְקִנְאָתִ֥י בְאֵשׁ־עֶבְרָתִ֖י דִּבַּ֑רְתִּי
“And in My jealousy by the fire of My overflowing anger,
I have spoken;
אִם־לֹ֣א ׀ בַּיּ֣וֹם הַה֗וּא
Of a certainty, on that day,
יִֽהְיֶה֙ רַ֣עַשׁ גָּד֔וֹל עַ֖ל אַדְמַ֥ת יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
There will be a great earthquake
upon the ground of Israel;”
38:20
וְרָעֲשׁ֣וּ מִפָּנַ֡י דְּגֵ֣י הַיָּם֩ וְע֨וֹף הַשָּׁמַ֜יִם וְחַיַּ֣ת הַשָּׂדֶ֗ה
“And they shall quake from My presence, –
the fish of the sea and the flying creature of the heavens
and the living creature of the field,
וְכָל־הָרֶ֙מֶשׂ֙ הָרֹמֵ֣שׂ עַל־הָֽאֲדָמָ֔ה
And every moving creature that moves upon the ground,
וְכֹל֙ הָֽאָדָ֔ם אֲשֶׁ֖ר עַל־פְּנֵ֣י הָאֲדָמָ֑ה
And all mankind that is upon the face of the ground;
וְנֶהֶרְס֣וּ הֶהָרִ֗ים
And the mountains shall be broken down,
וְנָֽפְלוּ֙ הַמַּדְרֵג֔וֹת
And the steep pathways shall collapse,
וְכָל־חוֹמָ֖ה לָאָ֥רֶץ תִּפּֽוֹל׃
And every wall shall fall to the earth;”
38:21
וְקָרָ֨אתִי עָלָ֤יו לְכָל־הָרַי֙ חֶ֔רֶב
“And I will call to all My mountains for a deadly weapon against him,
נְאֻ֖ם אֲדֹנָ֣י יְהוִ֑ה
The Declaration of Lord Yehovah;
חֶ֥רֶב אִ֖ישׁ בְּאָחִ֥יו תִּֽהְיֶֽה׃
A weapon of each against his brother there shall be ;”
38:22
וְנִשְׁפַּטְתִּ֥י אִתּ֖וֹ בְּדֶ֣בֶר וּבְדָ֑ם
“And I will enter into judgement with him
by plague and by blood;
וְגֶ֣שֶׁם שׁוֹטֵף֩ וְאַבְנֵ֨י אֶלְגָּבִ֜ישׁ אֵ֣שׁ וְגָפְרִ֗ית
And flooding rain and stones of hail, fire and sulphur, —
אַמְטִ֤יר עָלָיו֙ וְעַל־אֲגַפָּ֔יו
I shall cause these to rain down upon him
and upon his troops,
וְעַל־עַמִּ֥ים רַבִּ֖ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר אִתּֽוֹ׃
And upon the many peoples who are with him;”
38:23
וְהִתְגַּדִּלְתִּי֙ וְהִ֨תְקַדִּשְׁתִּ֔י וְנ֣וֹדַעְתִּ֔י
“And I will show Myself great and I will show Myself sanctified,
And I will make Myself known,
לְעֵינֵ֖י גּוֹיִ֣ם רַבִּ֑ים
In the eyes of the many nations;
וְיָדְע֖וּ כִּֽי־אֲנִ֥י יְהוָֽה׃ ס
Then they shall know,
that I AM Yehovah;”

And the seventh angel sounded, and there were great voices in Heaven, saying, “The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign for ever and ever!”
