וְאַתָּ֤ה בֶן־אָדָם֙ הִנָּבֵ֣א עַל־גּ֔וֹג
“Now you, O son of mankind,
prophesy against Gog,
וְאָ֣מַרְתָּ֔ כֹּ֥ה אָמַ֖ר אֲדֹנָ֣י יְהוִ֑ה
and you shall say,
‘Thus has said Lord Yehovah,
הִנְנִ֤י אֵלֶ֙יךָ֙ גּ֔וֹג
I AM against you, O Gog,
נְשִׂ֕יא רֹ֖אשׁ מֶ֥שֶׁךְ וְתֻבָֽל׃
Prince of the pre-eminent of Meshech and Tubal;’ ”
39:2
וְשֹׁבַבְתִּ֙יךָ֙ וְשִׁשֵּׁאתִ֔יךָ
“And I will turn you
and I will drive you forward,
וְהַעֲלִיתִ֖יךָ מִיַּרְכְּתֵ֣י צָפ֑וֹן
and I will lead you up
from the remotest parts of the North
וַהֲבִאוֹתִ֖ךָ עַל־הָרֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
And I will let you come against the mountains of Israel;”
39:3
וְהִכֵּיתִ֥י קַשְׁתְּךָ֖ מִיַּ֣ד שְׂמֹאולֶ֑ךָ
“But I shall smite your firing weapon
from your left hand,
וְחִצֶּ֕יךָ מִיַּ֥ד יְמִינְךָ֖ אַפִּֽיל׃
And I shall make your ammunition fall from your right hand;”
39:4
עַל־הָרֵ֨י יִשְׂרָאֵ֜ל תִּפּ֗וֹל אַתָּה֙ וְכָל־אֲגַפֶּ֔יךָ
“Upon the mountains of Israel you shall fall,
you and all your troops;
וְעַמִּ֖ים אֲשֶׁ֣ר אִתָּ֑ךְ
Along with the peoples who are with you.
לְעֵ֨יט צִפּ֧וֹר כָּל־כָּנָ֛ף וְחַיַּ֥ת הַשָּׂדֶ֖ה
To birds of prey of every wing-sort
and the wild animals of the field
נְתַתִּ֥יךָ לְאָכְלָֽה׃
I shall give you as food;”

39:5
עַל־פְּנֵ֥י הַשָּׂדֶ֖ה תִּפּ֑וֹל
“Upon the surface of the field you shall fall;
כִּ֚י אֲנִ֣י דִבַּ֔רְתִּי
For I Myself have spoken, —
נְאֻ֖ם אֲדֹנָ֥י יְהוִֽה׃
The Declaration of Lord Yehovah!”
39:6
וְשִׁלַּחְתִּי־אֵ֣שׁ בְּמָג֔וֹג
“And I shall send fire on Magog,
וּבְיֹשְׁבֵ֥י הָאִיִּ֖ים לָבֶ֑טַח
And on those inhabiting the coastlands/islands in security;
וְיָדְע֖וּ כִּי־אֲנִ֥י יְהוָֽה׃
And they shall know that I AM Yehovah;”
39:7
וְאֶת־שֵׁ֨ם קָדְשִׁ֜י אוֹדִ֗יעַ
“And My Holy Name I shall make known,
בְּתוֹךְ֙ עַמִּ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל
In the midst of My people Israel,
וְלֹֽא־אַחֵ֥ל אֶת־שֵׁם־קָדְשִׁ֖י ע֑וֹד
And I will no longer let My Holy Name be profaned:
וְיָדְע֤וּ הַגּוֹיִם֙ כִּי־אֲנִ֣י יְהוָ֔ה
And so the nations shall know that I Yehovah,
קָד֖וֹשׁ בְּיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
the Holy One, AM in Israel;”
39:8
הִנֵּ֤ה בָאָה֙ וְנִֽהְיָ֔תָה
“Behold it cometh and will be brought to pass, —
נְאֻ֖ם אֲדֹנָ֣י יְהוִ֑ה
The Declaration of Lord Yehovah:
ה֥וּא הַיּ֖וֹם אֲשֶׁ֥ר דִּבַּֽרְתִּי׃
It is the day of which I have spoken;”
39:9
וְֽיָצְא֞וּ יֹשְׁבֵ֣י ׀ עָרֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל
“And the inhabitants of the cities of Israel shall go forth,
וּבִעֲר֡וּ וְ֠הִשִּׂיקוּ
And they shall burn down and they shall overflow,
בְּנֶ֨שֶׁק וּמָגֵ֤ן וְצִנָּה֙ בְּקֶ֣שֶׁת וּבְחִצִּ֔ים
with weaponry and shield and full body protection,
by firing device and ordnance,
וּבְמַקֵּ֥ל יָ֖ד וּבְרֹ֑מַח
and by man-portable missile launcher, and by rocket;
וּבִעֲר֥וּ בָהֶ֛ם אֵ֖שׁ שֶׁ֥בַע שָׁנִֽים׃
And they shall make fire burn down on them, — seven years;”
39:10
וְלֹֽא־יִשְׂא֨וּ עֵצִ֜ים מִן־הַשָּׂדֶ֗ה
“And they shall not uplift explosive materials from the open country,
וְלֹ֤א יַחְטְבוּ֙ מִן־הַיְּעָרִ֔ים
And they shall not gather live munitions from the thickets,
כִּ֥י בַנֶּ֖שֶׁק יְבַֽעֲרוּ־אֵ֑שׁ
But with weaponry, they shall make fire burn down;
וְשָׁלְל֣וּ אֶת־שֹׁלְלֵיהֶ֗ם
And they shall despoil those who despoiled them;
וּבָֽזְזוּ֙ אֶת־בֹּ֣זְזֵיהֶ֔ם
And they shall plunder those who plundered them;”
נְאֻ֖ם אֲדֹנָ֥י יְהוִֽה׃ ס

39:11
וְהָיָ֣ה בַיּ֣וֹם הַה֡וּא
“And on that day
אֶתֵּ֣ן לְגוֹג֩ ׀ מְקֽוֹם־שָׁ֨ם קֶ֜בֶר בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל
I shall give to Gog a burial place there, in Israel,
גֵּ֤י הָעֹֽבְרִים֙ קִדְמַ֣ת הַיָּ֔ם
A valley to those about to pass through,
East of the Sea,
וְחֹסֶ֥מֶת הִ֖יא אֶת־הָעֹֽבְרִ֑ים
And it will be blocking those wanting to pass over;
וְקָ֣בְרוּ שָׁ֗ם אֶת־גּוֹג֙ וְאֶת־כָּל־הֲמוֹנֹ֔ה
And there they had buried Gog
and all his multitude,
וְקָ֣רְא֔וּ גֵּ֖יא הֲמ֥וֹן גּֽוֹג׃
And they named the valley
‘Hamon Gog’ (‘The Multitude of Gog’);”
39:12
וּקְבָרוּם֙ בֵּ֣ית יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל
“And so the House of Israel will be burying them, —
לְמַ֖עַן טַהֵ֣ר אֶת־הָאָ֑רֶץ
In order to cleanse the land, —
שִׁבְעָ֖ה חֳדָשִֽׁים׃
Seven months;”
39:13
וְקָֽבְרוּ֙ כָּל־עַ֣ם הָאָ֔רֶץ
“And in effect all the people of the land will be burying,
וְהָיָ֥ה לָהֶ֖ם לְשֵׁ֑ם
And so it shall become for them a commemoration; —
י֚וֹם הִכָּ֣בְדִ֔י
Of the Day of My Appearance in Glory,
נְאֻ֖ם אֲדֹנָ֥י יְהוִֽה׃

“You went forth for the salvation of Your People,
to deliver by Your Anointed;

39:14
וְאַנְשֵׁ֨י תָמִ֤יד יַבְדִּ֙ילוּ֙ עֹבְרִ֣ים בָּאָ֔רֶץ
“Now they shall select permanent personnel
for going through the land,
מְקַבְּרִ֣ים אֶת־הָעֹבְרִ֗ים
mass-burying those having crossed over,
אֶת־הַנּוֹתָרִ֛ים עַל־פְּנֵ֥י הָאָ֖רֶץ לְטַֽהֲרָ֑הּ
those remaining on the surface of the ground,
in order to cleanse it.
מִקְצֵ֥ה שִׁבְעָֽה־חֳדָשִׁ֖ים יַחְקֹֽרוּ׃
At the end of seven months,
they shall investigate:”
39:15
וְעָבְר֤וּ הָעֹֽבְרִים֙ בָּאָ֔רֶץ
“And they shall pass by those having passed through the land,
וְרָאָה֙ עֶ֣צֶם אָדָ֔ם
And when one shall see a human bone,
וּבָנָ֥ה אֶצְל֖וֹ צִיּ֑וּן
Then he shall create a marker beside it;
עַ֣ד קָבְר֤וּ אֹתוֹ֙ הַֽמְקַבְּרִ֔ים
Until those doing the burying have interred it,
אֶל־גֵּ֖יא הֲמ֥וֹן גּֽוֹג׃
At the Valley of Hamon Gog;”
39:16
וְגַ֥ם שֶׁם־עִ֛יר הֲמוֹנָ֖ה
“And also the name of the necropolis was Hamonah (Multitude),
וְטִהֲר֥וּ הָאָֽרֶץ׃ ס
And so they shall cleanse the land.”
39:17
וְאַתָּ֨ה בֶן־אָדָ֜ם
“Now you, son of mankind, –
כֹּֽה־אָמַ֣ר ׀ אֲדֹנָ֣י יְהֹוִ֗ה
Thus saith Lord Yehovah:
אֱמֹר֩ לְצִפּ֨וֹר כָּל־כָּנָ֜ף
Say to the birds of every wing-sort,
וּלְכֹ֣ל ׀ חַיַּ֣ת הַשָּׂדֶ֗ה
And to all the beasts of the field:
הִקָּבְצ֤וּ וָבֹ֙אוּ֙ הֵאָסְפ֣וּ מִסָּבִ֔יב
‘Assemble yourselves and come,
be gathered from all around,
עַל־זִבְחִ֗י
At My communal sacrifice,
אֲשֶׁ֨ר אֲנִ֜י זֹבֵ֤חַ לָכֶם֙ זֶ֣בַח גָּד֔וֹל
Which I AM slaughtering for you,
a great slaughter,
עַ֖ל הָרֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל
Upon the mountains of Israel;
וַאֲכַלְתֶּ֥ם בָּשָׂ֖ר וּשְׁתִ֥יתֶם דָּֽם׃
Then ye shall eat flesh, and ye shall drink blood:’ ”

בְּשַׂ֤ר גִּבּוֹרִים֙ תֹּאכֵ֔לוּ
“The flesh of champion warriors ye shall eat,

And the blood of the princes of the earth ye shall drink;
אֵילִ֨ים כָּרִ֤ים וְעַתּוּדִים֙ פָּרִ֔ים
Leaders – rams for slaughter and head goats, sacrificial bulls,
מְרִיאֵ֥י בָשָׁ֖ן כֻּלָּֽם׃
Fatted steers of Bashan;”

39:20
וּשְׂבַעְתֶּ֤ם עַל־שֻׁלְחָנִי֙ ס֣וּס וָרֶ֔כֶב
“And so ye shall eat your fill at My Table ‘Horse and Chariot’:
גִּבּ֖וֹר וְכָל־אִ֣ישׁ מִלְחָמָ֑ה
Elite troop and every man of war;
נְאֻ֖ם אֲדֹנָ֥י יְהוִֽה׃
The Declaration of Lord Yehovah;”
39:21
וְנָתַתִּ֥י אֶת־כְּבוֹדִ֖י בַּגּוֹיִ֑ם
“And I shall present My Glory among the nations:
וְרָא֣וּ כָל־הַגּוֹיִ֗ם
And so all the nations shall see
אֶת־מִשְׁפָּטִי֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר עָשִׂ֔יתִי
My Judgment that I have carried out
וְאֶת־יָדִ֖י אֲשֶׁר־שַׂ֥מְתִּי בָהֶֽם׃
And My Hand that I have set against them;”
39:22
וְיָֽדְעוּ֙ בֵּ֣ית יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל
“And the House of Israel shall know,
כִּ֛י אֲנִ֥י יְהוָ֖ה אֱלֹֽהֵיהֶ֑ם
That I AM Yehovah their God;
מִן־הַיּ֥וֹם הַה֖וּא וָהָֽלְאָה׃
From that time, and onward!”
39:23
וְיָדְע֣וּ הַ֠גּוֹיִם כִּ֣י בַעֲוֺנָ֞ם גָּל֣וּ בֵֽית־יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל
“And the nations shall know
that on account of their iniquity
the House of Israel went into exile,
עַ֚ל אֲשֶׁ֣ר מָֽעֲלוּ־בִ֔י
On the grounds that they had acted treacherously with Me,
וָאַסְתִּ֥ר פָּנַ֖י מֵהֶ֑ם
And I hid My Face from them;

And I gave them into the hand of their enemies,

כְּטֻמְאָתָ֥ם וּכְפִשְׁעֵיהֶ֖ם עָשִׂ֣יתִי אֹתָ֑ם
“According to their uncleanness
and their iniquities I had dealt with them,
וָאַסְתִּ֥ר פָּנַ֖י מֵהֶֽם׃ ס
And I had turned My Face from them.”

21” For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee.

39:25
לָכֵ֗ן כֹּ֤ה אָמַר֙ אֲדֹנָ֣י יְהוִ֔ה
“Therefore, Thus saith Lord Yehovah,
עַתָּ֗ה אָשִׁיב֙ אֶת־שבית שְׁב֣וּת יַֽעֲקֹ֔ב
Now, I will reverse the captivity of Jacob,
וְרִֽחַמְתִּ֖י כָּל־בֵּ֣ית יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל
And I will have mercy on the whole House of Israel;
וְקִנֵּאתִ֖י לְשֵׁ֥ם קָדְשִֽׁי׃
And I shall act with zeal for My Holy Name;”

And all their treachery that they had perpetrated against Me;
בְּשִׁבְתָּ֧ם עַל־אַדְמָתָ֛ם לָבֶ֖טַח
When they are dwelling upon their own soil in security,
וְאֵ֥ין מַחֲרִֽיד׃
and there are none causing terror;”

Out of the countries of those hating them, —
וְנִקְדַּ֣שְׁתִּי בָ֔ם
Then I shall show Myself as Holy though them,
לְעֵינֵ֖י הַגּוֹיִ֥ם רַבִּֽים׃
Before the eyes of those many nations;”
39:28
וְיָדְע֗וּ כִּ֣י אֲנִ֤י יְהוָה֙ אֱלֹ֣הֵיהֶ֔ם
“And then they shall know that I Yehovah AM their God,
בְּהַגְלוֹתִ֤י אֹתָם֙ אֶל־הַגּוֹיִ֔ם
When I had made them go into exile to the nations,
וְכִנַּסְתִּ֖ים עַל־אַדְמָתָ֑ם
And then I would assemble them upon their own soil,
וְלֹֽא־אוֹתִ֥יר ע֛וֹד מֵהֶ֖ם שָֽׁם׃
And I would not yet leave over of them there;”
39:29
וְלֹֽא־אַסְתִּ֥יר ע֛וֹד פָּנַ֖י מֵהֶ֑ם
“And I shall not again hide My Face from them; —
אֲשֶׁ֨ר שָׁפַ֤כְתִּי אֶת־רוּחִי֙ עַל־בֵּ֣ית יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל
When I have poured out My Spirit upon the House of Israel, —
נְאֻ֖ם אֲדֹנָ֥י יְהוִֽה׃ פ
